Swedish police, military, and coast guard in joint “drone/UAP-hunt”

The police say that large wing drones have been seen over protected objects. This is now a recurrent phenomenon. The Armed Forces participated in the drone hunt, and there were observations of at least 6-7 drones simultaneously in the southern part of Stockholm – including sightings over Sweden’s largest waterworks located in Botkyrka.

Several Drones have Been Seen Over Protected Areas.

Several authorities chased drones/UAPs after various alarms and observations last night by helicopter over land and the Coast Guard’s boats at sea.

Aftonbladet can reveal that the operation started yesterday after observing a “larger model” drone last night, just before 8 pm. The incident happened over a banknote printing plant in Botkyrka, a protected area.

Armed Forces and the Coast Guard were involved in UAP/drone hunting.

According to Aftonbladet’s sources, the operation lasted until midnight and involved several authorities in addition to the police, including the Armed Forces and the Coast Guard.

According to the information, at least 6-7 drones were observed at the same time in southern Stockholm, and confirmed observations were also made over protected objects such as Norsborg’s waterworks and the police station in Botkyrka.

According to information to Aftonbladet, a police patrol observed a drone over the same waterworks on Sunday evening. The waterworks is the largest in Sweden and supplies eleven municipalities with drinking water.

The police in Stockholm state that they have received most reports of suspected illegal drone/UAP flights over protected objects and that these are now coordinated throughout the police region.

Among them is the drone/UAP observation over the government quarters last Saturday when security guards filmed a black drone.

– In the last 24 hours, observations have been made of drones in the Stockholm region. We have prepared several reports concerning violations of the Protection Act and violations of the Aviation Act. It is forbidden to fly drones over protected objects, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the police in Stockholm.

He says that there is no suspect for the flights and that the police in Stockholm now have put together a task force to solve this mystery.

– We have an organization around these matters. There are several pieces about working to coordinate this and working with investigations. We investigate whether there is a connection, and of course, we try to investigate who or whom is flying these drones, says Per Fahlström.

“Very serious”

According to information from the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, there is also national coordination of the Security Police, which recently took over the investigation of the three drone observations over Swedish nuclear power plants on Friday night.

On Tuesday, the Swedish political party “moderaterna” called the Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson (S) to the Justice Committee to inform the members about the drone threat and ask questions about emergency preparedness.

– It is very serious that drones in a short time in what appears to be a coordinated effort can move in this way around our nuclear power plants. It is not just any buildings that we are talking about here, but the most critical thing we have in the country, says M’s legal policy spokesman Johan Forssell.

“Must be clear.”

He says that the events raise the question of whether the security is really adequate around our protected objects of the type that those black drones have now overrun. He also wonders if the police and military have enough resources.

– We must be clear if the government intends to take any measures to strengthen the protection around this type of socially important infrastructure. After what has happened in recent days, it is not certain that it will end. It can also be the beginning of something, says Johan Forssell.

Minister of Defense Peter Hultqvist was asked about the drone/UAP threat at a press conference on Tuesday and then called for vigilance and did not rule out that foreign power may be behind the flights.

– I can not speculate about things that are not clarified; this is now up to our police to investigate. But it can be said that there is, of course, something that can be found in the arsenal of foreign powers.
