Notable Public People in the UFO Topic

Here is a list of notable people who are interested in the UFO topic. They are anything from government people, former US defense officials, authors, journalists, filmmakers, fighter pilots, scientists, and the former national director of AATIP. We can essentially call them ufologists (UFO researchers).

Who is Christopher Mellon?

Christopher Karl Mellon is a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. He was also later for Security and Information Operations. Mellon formerly served as the Staff Director of the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

UFO quotes from Cristopher Mellon

"For those wondering why some of us with national security backgrounds have been so concerned about the UAP issue lately, I suggest this excellent update on recent U.S. Navy encounters."- Christopher Mellon

“We know UFO/UAP exists and is a reality.” – Christopher Mellon TTSA.

The Pilot Who Saw ‘Tic Tac’ UFO

On November 14, 2004, fighter pilot Cmdr David Fravor of the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group investigated radar indications of a UAP off the coast of southern California. David reported that he saw a white tic-tac-shaped object hovering above an ocean disturbance. He determined that the UFO was about forty feet long. A second fighter pilot, Lieutenant Commander Chad Underwood, took off from Nimitz to investigate. Unlike David Fravor, Underwood’s fighter was equipped with an advanced infrared camera (FLIR). Underwood recorded the FLIR video.

David Fravor is a former Navy Cmdr. And in 2004, Navy Cmdr David Fravor and Navy Lt. Cmdr Jim Slaight were flying approximately 100 miles (160km) off the coast of San Diego in each of their F/A-18F Super Hornets they saw the famous “tic-tac” UFO.

Who is Harry Reid?

The late Harry Mason Reid was a retired American attorney and politician who served as a Senator from Nevada from 1987 to 2017.  Harry Reid wanted senators to push for more UFO research. He wanted to increase the government’s efforts in studying unidentified flying objects.

John Ratcliffe, a former U.S. intelligence official

John Ratcliffe, a former U.S. intelligence official, recently announced the Pentagon is sitting on many strange sightings (UFOS) reports about what they officially call unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). Still, it’s better known as unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

Ratcliffe said that the UAPs reportedly made difficult movements to replicate that the military doesn’t have the technology for flying at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom. In short, things that they are observing are hard to explain.

Ratcliffe acknowledged the Pentagon couldn’t rationalize some of the reported sightings

Ratcliffe says they always look for a plausible explanation for these UAPs. He continues to reveal; weather can cause disturbances and visual disturbances. Sometimes they wonder whether our adversaries have technologies that are a little bit further down the road than they thought or that they realized. But there are also instances where they don’t have good explanations for some of the things they’ve seen.

Three takeaways from what John Ratcliffe said on the UFO enigma

  1. UFOs are picked up by MULTIPLE SENSORS.
  2. UFOs perform speeds exceeding the sound barrier yet do not produce a sonic boom.
  3. There are more UFO encounters than the public knows.

Journalist Leslie Kean and UFOs

Reporting on the Pentagon secret programs that are investigating unidentified flying objects, UFOs, is not about faith. It’s about a thorough search for facts. Journalists are stepping up and not being afraid to ask about UAPs. Proving UFOs exist is impossible–even fringe, paranoid, silly–or so goes the country’s prevailing attitude. But investigative reporter Leslie Kean’s research on the topic is pretty thorough–and astonishing.

Who is Leslie Kean?

A veteran independent reporter for various national and international publications, including The Boston GlobeThe Sydney Morning Herald, and The Nation, Kean has been featured on NPR, CNN, and The Colbert Report. She has committed more than a decade to dissecting the controversial topic, interviewing high-level officials and aviation experts. Her book, UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Recordis a fascinating compendium of their first-hand accounts of sightings.

5-10 percent of sightings are unidentified

According to Kean, 5-10 percent of sightings are unidentified; a vast majority of aerial phenomena, 90-95 percent in Leslie Kean’s ‘s view, can be explained to be one of the following: “flares, weather balloons, sky lanterns, birds reflecting the sun, secret military aircraft, planes reflecting the sun, blimps, helicopters, planes in formation, the planets Mars or Venus, meteors or meteorites, space junk, satellites, swamp gas, spinning eddies, sundogs, ball lightning, ice crystals, reflected light off clouds, lights on the ground or lights reflected on a cockpit window.”

Leslie’s book focuses on the former, the stories in history that cannot be attributed to any latter. Whether or not you believe in UFOs, there’s no denying that Leslies’ findings are extraordinary, and she presents the facts that support the existence of UFOs and UAPs without feeding conspiracies as to why, how–or even what might be piloting them.

Who is Luis Elizondo?

Luis Elizondo is a former military intelligence official. He ran the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program AATIP on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring, deep within the building’s maze. The secret program was shut down in 2012.

Elizondo’s thoughts on the Pentagon’s upcoming request to brief Congress on all it knows about unidentified flying objects UFOs within “180 days.”

According to the Senate Intelligence Committee’s directive, the report needs to contain detailed analyses of UFO/UAP data and intelligence collected by the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, and the FBI.

The briefing will cover “observed airborne objects that have not been identified” and feature “detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by:

  1. Geospatial intelligence;
  2. Signals intelligence;
  3. Human intelligence; and
  4. Measurement and signals intelligence,” according to the request.

There are several “difficult to explain” UFO sightings in the soon-to-be-released UAP Task Force report scheduled for June. It is no surprise to followers of the UFO subject since thousands of reports are filed every year, many of which are truly remarkable. But how far can any government-issued UFO/UAP report go?

Major Jesse Marcel – Roswell UFO witness

Jesse Marcel was a key person in the discovery and initial analysis of the Roswell UFO incident.

The Roswell UFO Incident

The historic Roswell UFO incident refers to a July 1947 United States Army Air Forces crash of an unknown object at a ranch near Roswell, in New Mexico. And following local press, interest in debris gathered from the crash site, and the debris came from a “flying disc.” The military stated that the crashed saucer was simply a conventional weather balloon. Interest consequently declined until the late 1970s when ufologists began promoting different theories that alien spacecraft had crash-landed. The US military had recovered the extraterrestrial then engaged in a cover-up.

Senate Florida Republican Marco Rubio wants the stigma about UFO to go away

Marco Rubio declared he wants answers to reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) “flying over military installations.” In late December, this $2.3 trillion appropriations bill signed into law by former President Trump did more than give emergency relief for the economy. It provided some funding for the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

But aside from financing intelligence services vital to U.S. security, it incorporated a section for “Advanced Aerial Threats.” It calls on the director of national intelligence and secretary of defense to produce a report analyzing UFOs, UAPs, or unidentified aerial objects.

Those security agencies were given 180 days from the bill’s signing to present the report to congress on all “observed airborne objects that have not been identified.” This with what they can of discovering by working with security authorities across the military and private sector.

Who is Marco Rubio?

Marco Antonio Rubio is a lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Florida. He is a Republican. Rubio previously served as speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.

Who Is Michael Schratt?

Michael Schratt is a military aerospace historian and private pilot. He is a classified “Black” projects researcher specializing in the exposure of un-acknowledged special access aerospace programs. He is also the author of DARK FILES: A Pictorial History of Lost Forgotten and Obscure UFO Encounters.

Who is Nick Pope?

Nick Pope worked at the MoD, Ministry of Defence for 21 years. From 1991 to 1994, he was posted to a division where his duties involved investigating UAP sightings to determine whether they had any defense significance. Here are some UFO Questions to Nick Pope.

Suppose US Congressional interest evolves into formal hearings, either specifically on AATIP or on UAPs more generally. In that case, Pope hopes they can get past debates about terminology and avoid getting bogged down in statistical analyses.

Nick made clear his willingness to testify on the basis that his experience with the MoD might be relevant. What do you think of Nick? Please leave a comment.
