Pachmayr Grips on Taurus 605

First Impressions and Fit

Many users have lauded the perfect fit of Pachmayr grips on their Taurus revolvers. These grips not only fit the frame perfectly, but also include a frame locating pin that provides perfect grip alignment. They are designed to seamlessly integrate with small frame revolvers, including the Taurus 85 and 94 models. People should know that the Taurus grip for the 38 snub fits all their small frame revolvers. I put these grips on their 22 mag.revolver and they fit perfectly.

Enhanced Comfort and Handling

One of the primary reasons to upgrade grips is to improve comfort and handling. The current Taurus grips were very uncomfortable in my hand. These new grips are not only comfortable while shooting but look fantastic. These grips have a nice palm swell and fit very nicely. With a nice palm swell, these grips provide a more secure and ergonomic hold. Also improved shooting comfort by far.

Recoil is alot easier to handle due to the smooth finish. The smooth finish did not effect the grip when drawing. For those who find the round butt style lacking in palm support, Pachmayr grips offer a fuller feel, enhancing control and reducing discomfort during shooting.

Installation and Potential Issues

While most users report an easy installation process, some have encountered minor issues. Perfect fit. Easy to install and function great. One common issue is the size of the frame pin hole in the grip. Would have given 5 stars except couldn't install because pin in frame was too big for mating hole in grip. I had to drill these out to the larger diameter of frame pin, no big deal. This is typically a minor inconvenience that can be resolved with simple drilling.

Aesthetics and Value

Beyond functionality, Pachmayr grips also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your revolver. Fit and finish of these grips was better than expected for the price. They definitely add to the classy appearance of your wheel gun without sacrificing functionality. These grips compare to grips selling for 20-30 dollars more. Great Buy. For those prioritizing both form and function, Pachmayr grips offer an excellent balance.

I have been shooting, collecting ,hunting and smithing for more than 40 years,These grips are a great buy. Would highly recommend. These grips are a great value, often outperforming grips in a higher price range.

Alternatives to Consider

Topic: grips for a taurus 605?? anyone got any good links?im looking for a bigger, fuller grip than what the stock ones are.i prefer wood, but rubber would do if the price is right.i know i can get hogue ones, but i dont really want to drop $100 for their wood grips... Supposedly the J frame round butt grips can be made to work by drilling the index pin in the correct position, which may give a larger selection to choose from. In any case its the same grips on the 605 as the 85 and 94. The longer style combat grips are not all that bad IMO, but I prefer the old square butt style.

The round butt just don't fill the palm enough form me and make it more difficult to hold. The 2 factory Taurus grips are the same size except in length FWIW. Ebay has a good selection of wood ones. I picked these up on there pretty cheap. Thats the way they came. They are just a polymer, but unique and durable.
