The Sri Yantra, also known as the Sri Chakra, is a complex and sacred geometrical diagram. It is believed to be a symbol of the universe and its infinite possibilities. It is considered a powerful tool for meditation and manifestation.

These triangles are arranged in such a way that they form a central point called the bindu, representing the cosmic centre or unity with the divine. The Sri Yantra is made up of nine interlocking triangles, which represent the nine levels of consciousness. The intricate geometry of the Sri Yantra helps to still the mind by providing a visual focus, allowing meditators to enter a state of deep relaxation and inner peace. How to Meditate with the Sri Yantra for Manifestation

To use the Sri Yantra to manifest your desires, the key is to approach it with clear intention, focus, and a sense of devotion.

  1. Define Your Intention: Before you begin, it’s important to have a clear and focused intention. Decide exactly what you want to manifest in your life-whether it’s material wealth, success, health, love, or spiritual growth. Write your desire down to solidify your intention and keep it focused. Please be realistic and sensible with your desires. Begin with something small, which makes sense to you and your present life.
  2. Create a Peaceful Environment: Find a quiet, peaceful place where you won’t be disturbed. If you have a Sri Yantra (in the form of a physical image, sculpture, or yantra diagram), place it in front of you.
  3. Relax and Focus: Sit in a comfortable position, either on the floor or on a chair, with your back straight. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and allow yourself to relax. Bring your awareness to the present moment, letting go of any distractions or worries. Think about the your issue at the present moment. I.E, what you’re trying to manifest, as it is or isn’t in the present moment.
  4. Gaze at the Sri Yantra: Open your eyes and gently gaze at the Sri Yantra. Focus on the central point (middle), known as the bindu, which represents the cosmic centre and unity with the divine. As you gaze at the Sri Yantra, allow your mind to quiet down, and focus solely on the image.
  5. Visualize Your Desire: As you focus on the Sri Yantra, bring your desire into your awareness. Visualise your intention as if it has already been fulfilled. Feel the emotions of gratitude, joy, and satisfaction that come with your manifestation. This is the part where most people fail. They cannot imagine / think / feel themselves having achieved their desire.
  6. Visualize Energy Flow: While meditating on the Sri Yantra, visualise energy flowing from the outermost layers of the yantra into the centre, the bindu. Imagine that this energy carries your desire into the cosmic field of possibilities, where it can manifest. When we are engaging with the energy of the Sri Yantra, we see many different colours at play, depending largely on what we’re focusing on. For manifestation of desires, we always a lite white translucent light with golden hues.
  7. Express Gratitude: Once you have spent time (2 - 5 minutes) focusing on the Sri Yantra and visualising your desire, express gratitude as if your desire has already manifested. Trust that the universe is working to bring your intentions into reality. You may also recite a statements that aligns with your goal. E.g.
  8. Repeat Daily: Repeat this process daily for consistent focus and energy alignment.
  9. Stay Open and Release Attachment: As you continue your practice, remain open to receiving your desire in unexpected ways. Lastly, shift your mind and energy away from the lack of not having the goal or object of your desire. You may have heard the statement ‘can’t see the forest for the trees’. What we’re releasing here is the purest form of the Sri Yantra Energy Field.

We recommend combing the use of the Sri Yantra image with the energy field. For those of you that have honed your ability to communicate with energy, this is an amazing energy to speak with, and learn from.

The Science of Yantras

Yantras are powerful spiritual tools rooted in ancient tantric wisdom. The science of yantras originates from Tantra and is widely used in tantric practices and lifestyle. The specific geometric patterns within a yantra - such as circles, triangles, and lotus petals - represent different aspects of existence and the universe. Each of these spiritual shapes represents a certain divine concept or principle, such as spiritual evolution, or the divine feminine or masculine. Tantra uses yantras to connect to the specific universal energies that they represent.

Having yantras in your living areas will also fill those spaces with positive subtle energies. Sacred geometry is an exact science and yantras need to be in their exact and authentic form in order to reward you with their corresponding benefits and support. At Somananda Tantra School, we created a brand called Sacred Shapes to provide real, proven, traditional yantras for our students and anyone else who has an interest in spiritual symbols.

How Yantras Influence Your Energy

It is well known in yogic and tantric tradition that there is much more to a human being than the visible and gross physical structure. According to tantric yogis, it is in this human energy field that the origin of illness and disease truly lies. As energy governs your physical body, this also means that the energy expressed by a yantra can directly affect your body and your health. Therefore, in order to permanently and fully remedy any health disturbance, it makes sense to heal and rejuvenate your body at the energetic level first and foremost - rather than solely addressing the physical manifestations of a disease.

Many people in modern day struggle with emotional swings. And not only that, but we are also influenced by the energy present in our environment. Even the colors you see have an energetic effect on you. And yet most of us are unaware of the various energetic forces influencing us. However, this often-unseen influence can be counteracted using yantras.

Simply put, if you surround yourself with positive energetic influences in your environment, such as yantras, it creates a resonance that your personal energy will attune to. This can be especially helpful if you’re a healer in any form, such as a psychologist, massage therapist, or any other professional who regularly interacts with other people’s energy. Typically, your clients will come to you when they’re experiencing energetic disturbances that are causing them issues.

Specific Yantras and Their Benefits

Here are a few examples of specific yantras and their benefits:

  • Tara Yantra: Tara is considered a very wise and compassionate deity, and a Tara Yantra will bring an energy of compassion and harmony into your space. The compassionate energy of Tara will help you gently release energetic blockages that may be causing physical symptoms.
  • Surya Yantra: In certain Eastern traditions, Surya is considered the God of the Sun. The empowering influence of Surya yantra is excellent for managing emotional states. It enhances your ability to control energy and become centered within yourself.
  • Sri Yantra: She depicts divine beauty, so Sri Yantra brings the elements of beauty, femininity, and divine consciousness into your environment. The divine feminine, creative force of this sacred symbol will awaken the same energy in your life. Many who work with Sri Yantra experience increased sexual desire and orgasmic potential.
  • Divine Masculinity Yantra: The Divine Masculinity sacred symbol is used in the tantric tradition to connect with the pure and divine masculine energy of the universe. A Divine Masculinity Yantra will support the development of these higher masculine qualities, which will also support masculine sexuality.
  • Atman Yantra: Atman is a Sanskrit word for the true or eternal Self. As the Atman Yantra represents pure consciousness, interacting with it deepens your connection with your true self. Another aspect of Atman is true, unconditional love - which means this spiritual symbol also promotes feelings of affection and deep states of spiritual self-love. This makes it an excellent choice for protection from negative energy.
  • Ganesha Yantra: Ganesha is an Indian god who is revered as the remover of obstacles and bringer of good luck. And this is exactly the energy of the Ganesha Yantra.
  • Shiva Trident Yantra: The Shiva Trident Yantra is from the Kashmiri Shaivism tradition. This sacred geometry symbol serves as a tool for transcending duality by cultivating a deeper connection with higher consciousness.
  • Crown Chakra Yantra: The crown chakra is located at the top of your head and is also called by its Sanskrit name, Sahasrara. The Crown Chakra geometry is rooted in ancient tantric and yogic tradition, and it is used to reach high states of consciousness. The mere presence of this yantra brings a strong spiritual energy into your environment.
  • Shambhala Yantra: Shambhala is a mystical paradise that’s spoken of in ancient texts. According to spiritual legends, it exists on the very edge of reality. In this way, the Shambhala Yantra acts as a type of bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. The sacred symbol of Shambhala is also related to divine protection and spiritual evolution.
  • Mental Focus Yantra: The Mental Focus Yantra stimulates the opening of the third eye chakra, or Ajna chakra in Sanskrit. Encouraging the opening of your third eye with the Mental Focus Yantra will have far-reaching effects on your spiritual practice and your life in general. Also, when you can focus your mind more clearly, you can start to see beyond the distractions and illusions of your daily existence.

How to Use Yantras

Yantras can be used in a variety of ways, and you can adapt your practices to suit your individual needs and lifestyle.

  1. Placement: Yantras support the overall development of a human being simply by being around them or next to them. Your personal energy system will attune to the energy of the divine symbol. Where should a yantra be placed, exactly? The best place is where you spend a lot of time, such as in your office, living room, or bedroom.
  2. Meditation: Keep your eyes open and direct your focus towards the centre of the yantra. After a minute or two, once you feel you have connected with the energy of the yantra, close your eyes and see the image of the yantra in your mind’s eye. Take a moment to evaluate the effect of the practice. You may feel more centered, calm, or at peace. Take at least two minutes to really feel the results of this session.
  3. Music: However, it’s important to use music you know has a specific effect. For instance, if you’re doing a yantra practice to awaken the crown chakra, you can listen to a track known to benefit the crown chakra. To use them, simply start playing the track either on a speaker or headphones as you begin your yantra practice, such as the 10-minute focus practice we described above.

Choosing the Right Yantra

You have a few different options for making this choice.

  1. Identify Areas for Improvement: Take a moment to consider which areas of your life need improvement, uplifting, or fixing. Perhaps you’ve been struggling with a relationship, low self-esteem, or a health issue.
  2. Listen to Your Intuition: On a deeper level, you may already know which yantra you should be working with. Your mind and soul constantly send messages, but we’re often too busy to hear them. Take a moment to listen as you choose a yantra. You may feel a “pull” toward certain designs that will subtly stand out from the rest.
  3. Follow Course Recommendations: In the booklets of most of our courses, we share respective tantric yantras that you can practice with.

Additional Tips for Working with Yantras

  • Energetically and spiritually, the most conducive direction for hanging your yantra is north (meaning you are looking towards the north to see the geometry). If you do not have your northern or eastern walls available, then use other walls.
  • Yes, it is completely fine to have more than one yantra in a room. The energies carried by sacred geometries are pure and divine.
  • Yantras do not need activation. They are perfect geometrical structures that carry the energy of a specific universal principle within them. However, it’s recommended to personally connect with the energy a sacred symbol is carrying on a regular basis. The best way to do this is to meditate with the yantra. To start, simply face the divine symbol and connect with it mentally for ten or more minutes per day. Meditating on a yantra brings more of its energy into your consciousness and energy body.
  • It’s also recommended to always treat your yantras with respect. As you can see, yantras are not just pieces of art or decorative objects - they serve a much higher purpose in supporting your overall well-being.
