In Pokémon Black and White, players encounter Team Plasma, an organization with the goal of liberating Pokémon from humans. Among its members are the Seven Sages, a group of influential figures who play a crucial role in the game's storyline.
The Seven Sages are notable ranking members of Team Plasma. They are a group of intelligent people from all over the world. This group consists of Gorm, Bronius, Rood, Zinzolin, Giallo, Ryoku, and Ghetsis. The sages are met individually throughout the games, but all of them are seen together in N's Castle where they block the way to N. All the Gym Leaders (with the exception of Cilan, Chili, and Cress) appear and clear the way to N.
This guide provides information on where to find each of the Seven Sages in Pokémon Black and White, including their significance within Team Plasma. After Ghetsis has been defeated, the player must help Looker find the remaining six sages all over Unova.
Team Plasma Encounters
Like previous games, Pokémon Black & White features an evil team who you'll have to face numerous times throughout the game. In this case, the team that you deal with is Team Plasma.
- You will first encounter Team Plasma in Accumula Town where you'll see Ghetsis, one of the leaders of Team Plasma, giving a speech about how people use Pokémon as tools and they should be freed so they can all become equals.
- Your next encounter with Team Plasma is within the Dreamyard. Heading there to provide Dream Smoke for Fennel, you will soon see that Team Plasma who want to use Munna's Dream Smoke to appear in the dreams of people to convince them that the idea of freeing their Pokémon is the best idea.
- Go to the Opening of the Underground Water Vein to the left and you'll find Cheren there with some Plasma Grunts. The next encounter is immediately after you defeat Lenora in the Nacrene City Gym. When you leave, you'll see that Team Plasma are out steal the head of the fossil in Nacrene Museum in order to try and revive the Pokémon to use it in their schemes.
- Once you have defeated N, you must go to the west and into Pinwheel Forest, where Team Plasma have camped out in order to try and protect the Dragon Bone.
- Go to the building on the left hand side of the Pokémon Gym street in Castelia City and three grunts will challenge you. Defeat them and enter the building and you'll find Ghetsis and two sages; Rood and Bronius. Ghetsis will tell you that they're trying to revive a Dragon Pokémon and will give you Bianca's Munna back.
- As soon as you enter Nimbasa City, you will see two Plasma Grunts are harassing an elderly man, the man who helps ru nthe Day Care Centre. Challenge them and defeat them and they'll quickly leave.
- When you enter Driftveil City, Cheren will tell you that he has heard rumblings that Team Plasma are somewhere within the city. Having looked around, you will soon find them to the south of the city in the Cold Storage where the sage, Zinzolin is plotting with many Plasma Grunts.
- In Chargestone Cave, you will find that a group called Shadow Triad are waiting for you. Taking you downstairs, you will find that there are numerous Team Plasma grunts to battle. Fight through them and you'll learn that N was raised alongside Pokémon.
- In the Relic Castle, you will encounter the sage Ryoku who will tell you that you have been expected and that Ghetsis is awaiting you beneath.
- The next time you'll find Team Plasma is after you have defeated the Elite Four. When you enter the Champion's Room, you'll find that N is there already having already defeated Alder. N plans to live his dream and before long, the castle starts to grow and connects itself to the Poémon League building.
Finding the Sages After Defeating the Elite Four
After you have defeated N, when you go downstairs in your house, you will find Looker, an investigator for the International Police is here to ask you about Team Plasma. He will request your help in finding and arresting the remaining sages who managed to get away after the incident at the Pokémon League.

Here's where you can find each of the sages:
- Rood: The first sage geographically is Rood. Rood is found within Route 18, right at the end. Talking with him, he'll give you some backstory into Team Plasma as Looker appears and takes him away.
- Gorm: Geographically, the next sage you'll find is in the Dreamyard. After you have battled through the trainers in the basement of the lot, you'll find Gorm. Like Rood, he'll tell you some more of how Team Plasma was formed and will give you TM75.
- Ryoku: In the Relic Castle, a new area will have opened up. This area will take you to the new basement which contains a maze. Follow the maze through, and you'll find a Team Plasma grunt who quickly flees. Continue on and you'll find Ryoku in front of a doorway.
- Zinzolin: In the container inside the Cold Storage, you'll find that the sage Zinzolin has taken up residence in isolation due to what he has done. Once more, you'll get some backstory into Team Plasma and Ghetsis.
- Bronius: Next, hidden well within the basement of the Chargestone Cave, you'll find the sage, Bronius. However, before you can properly talk with him, two Plasma Grunts come in to protect him and challenge you to a battle. Defeat them and Bronius will talk like the others to give Looker the information he needs.
- Giallo: Finally, the next sage is in Route 14. You need both Surf and Waterfall in order to reach him. Once you reach him, he'll give you the final piece to the Team Plasma backstory and Looker will come and arrest him, thanking you for your assistance.

The Roles of the Sages
Each sage had a specific task within Team Plasma:
- Gorm: Was given the task of collecting information about the Unova Legendary Pokémon, Reshiram and Zekrom.
- Bronius: Was tasked with spreading Team Plasma's ideals to the populace.
- Ryoku: Was tasked with capturing Volcarona at the Desert Resort.
- Giallo: Was tasked with capturing Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus to strengthen Team Plasma's forces.
- Rood: Was tasked with capturing Victini.
Notably, Zinzolin was not given a specific task by Ghetsis. The only exception is Ghetsis, who has the Shadow Triad as his subordinates.
