Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. Drawing from traditions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, and traditional Japanese methods, Reiki teaches that “rei” means universal and “ki” means life force energy. This vital energy flows through all living beings and can be harnessed to restore balance and support healing. Reiki involves the practitioner placing their hands on or near the recipient’s body to channel energy. The goal is relaxation, stress reduction, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes. Reiki Levels and Training Programs
Complete training in Usui Reiki typically involves Levels I-III. Some centers, like The Heart Center, offer both Levels 1 & 2 and Advanced Reiki Training & Mastery over the course of the year to create access to this beautiful discipline. These trainings provide maps to understand the function and flow of energy in the subtle body. You will learn to aid in the clearing, balancing, and healing of yourself and others. This training will place you into the Usui lineage for hands-on healing (Level 1) and distance healing (Level 2). This training upgrades your frequency, bringing up the opportunities and tools to self-heal.
Reiki Level 1 & 2
Traditionally, Reiki Level 1 qualifies a student to perform self-healings and offer reiki to others without monetary compensation.
Reiki Level 2 training expands on the energy and healing techniques covered in Level 1. In Reiki Level 2 training, we cover offering energy treatments to others and managing clients’ energies. This will include covering appropriate energy exchange for providing reiki services (fee for service model), and client intake and contracting prior to sessions. Additionally we will discuss how to maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid (or clear) energy entanglements. Students will receive their Reiki Level 2 attunement through ritual to align their emotional body and be provided additional sacred reiki symbols to work with energy and healing across distance (remote work over time and space). Students will continue to practice additional techniques including opening space, grounding, and shielding to create a safe and sacred container to explore and experience Reiki with the highest good and intentions.

Students will be given the opportunity to practice on themselves and with one another. Open dialogue about the sensations, experiences, and questions that arise throughout this process are welcome and encouraged. We will also touch on some of the scientific basis for energy balancing and healing as well as sit in the mystery of its magic. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of this training.

Practitioners of other modalities such as acupuncture, cranial sacral therapy, and traditional allopathic medicine will learn how to apply Reiki healing tools to their existing practice.
Advanced Reiki Training & Mastery (Reiki Level III & IV)
Reiki III ~ In this ONE Day class you will be attuned to the Master Symbol. You will be taught how to incorporate this new symbol and frequency into your healing practice and daily life. Topics to be covered: creating sacred space, working with crystals, growing your intuition, protection, and so much more. We will also cover how to set up a healing practice.
Reiki IV / Teacher Training is designed for those who want to teach and attune others. But even if teaching is not your focus, the powerful symbols you'll learn in this class can also be used in healing.
On day three, reiki students will be trained in how to create and lead reiki trainings for their future reiki students.

Seattle City Reiki has worked in collaboration with the doctors at Meridian Medicine, chosen by the doctors to be the Reiki Master on staff at the clinic.
