“Have you been born again?” This question has been a popular way to ask someone whether or not he or she is a Christian.
Honestly, until fairly recently the thought of doing such a thing was nowhere near my radar. It was not something my family did when I was growing up.
But what does this question mean? The Bible sometimes uses birth as a metaphor to describe the impartation of God’s life to the sinner. Without this life, we are otherwise dead in our sins, follow the world and Satan, and live for our own desires (Ephesians 2:1-3; cf. 2:4-5). We would be under the wrath of God and never enter His kingdom (John 3:3; Ephesians 2:3). In a word, spiritual birth is regeneration.
Other metaphors include creation (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:10; 4:24), resurrection (John 5:25), receiving a new a pure heart (Jeremiah 24:7; Ezekiel 36:26; Matthew 5:8; cf. Deuteronomy5:29; 29:4), and experiencing a circumcision of the heart (Deuteronomy 10:16; 30:6; Jeremiah 9:25-26).
Whatever the metaphor may be, the reception of God’s life changes one’s eternal destiny from perishing in the lake of fire to living forever in heaven. This life brings a present change as well-from living in sin to living for Christ and becoming more like Him (Colossians 3:9-10).

Sticking with the picture of spiritual birth (found in most of the Scriptures cited below), we can learn a bit about how we receive God’s life and what happens as a result.
This birth does not come about by one’s heritage, desire, or the power of man (John 1:13; 3:3, 6). It is not the result of walking down an aisle, being baptized, praying a prayer, or attending services at a church. Instead, it is spiritual in nature and based upon the will and mercy of God (James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:3). It is an act of God (John 1:13; 3:3, 8) through His Spirit (John 3:5, 6, 8) that takes place with the sinner’s acceptance of the gospel (1 Cor 4:15), which is the living and abiding Word of God (1 Peter 1:23, 25; cf. James 1:18; 1 John 3:9).
The one who is born by God believes that Jesus is the Christ and that He died to take the wrath of God upon Himself for our sins (1 John 5:1; cf. 1 John 4:10). The one born in this way knows God (1 John 4:7), loves the Father (1 John 5:1), and hopes in the resurrection (1 Peter 1:3). He loves others (1 John 4:7; 5:1), practices righteousness (1 John 2:29), and does not make a practice of sin (1 John 3:9; 5:18). He might be persecuted (Galatians 4:29), but he overcomes the world through faith (1 John 5:4). and will be protected by the Son of God (1 John 5:18). He will one day see and enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3, 5).
If you are trusting in Christ alone for your salvation and your life has been transformed, you can know that God has imparted His life to you and that you have been born again. All quotes ESV.
Just as a chronological birthday marks the anniversary of one’s birth into a biological family, a spiritual birthday marks the anniversary of birth into the family of God. A spiritual birthday is a milestone in the life of a believer in Christ.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. life-changing event. Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” Jesus repeated, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 1:12-13 explains Jesus in your spiritual birth. In Luke 15, Jesus told parables about rejoicing in Heaven and celebrating on earth over spiritual birth. When the prodigal son returned home, the father ordered a feast and celebration.

Children have a very special place and grace in the kingdom of God. The actual ages of “little children” and “children” are not defined in scripture. In the Old Testament, God’s treatment of children indicates a special grace based on their inability to know good from evil. Your second decade, between age 10 and age 20, is the most important and can be most dificult ten years of your physical and spiritual life. During this decade, you experience physical, mental, emotional, sexual and spiritual changes and decisions that impact your future years. If you are 20 or more years old, think of yourself on your 10th and 20th physical birthdays. You transitioned from a child to an adult. You no longer talk like a child nor think like a child nor reason like a child. Born Again Teens become born again adults, marry and become born again parents.
God chose women to physically bear children and become moms. Moms have a very important role in their earthly family and in God’s family. Giving physical birth to a child creates a bond and love that knows no equal. A mom’s love and care for her child never ends. Youth Pastors have a very important and challenging position in the church and kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God, most spiritual births (75 t0 80 %) occur before age 20. In the church they are responsible for the spiritual discipleship and evangelism of preteens and teenager during their most dynamic and difficult decade of life. The physical, emotional and social changes experience between age ten and twenty are enormous.
There’s a reason birthdays feel so sacred, especially as we mature into our true energy. At 63 years young, I’ve come to know that birthday energy is far more than cake, cards, and candles-it’s a cosmic invitation. A return to self. A spiritual checkpoint. From an astrological and energetic standpoint, your birthday is when the sun returns to the exact position it was in at the moment you were born. This is called your solar return, and it's more than symbolic. Science supports this too.

Quantum physics teaches us that energy is information in motion-and your biofield (your personal energy field) is constantly communicating with your environment. When you're aligned, that field becomes coherent. You become magnetic. Your nervous system stabilizes. Your heart-brain coherence (measurable by HRV-heart rate variability) increases.
For me, alignment is the core of everything-especially as an Event Energy Conductor. I am not simply performing a task. I am creating a field of coherence that others can entrain to.
I was born in a generation that taught women to give until they were empty. We were raised to be silent supporters, not radiant leaders. We were taught that our worth came from what we gave away-not from who we are. So we learned to abandon ourselves to care for others. We ignored our aches. We silenced our intuitive nudges.
When you align your energy, you don’t deplete. You amplify. When you nourish your spirit, you don't neglect others-you serve them better.
On a spiritual level, your birthday is a powerful moment when the veil between your higher self and your physical self becomes thin. This isn’t just spiritual poetry. The Institute of HeartMath and studies in neurocardiology show that heart-focused intention and emotional alignment during moments of significance (like your birthday) enhance brainwave coherence and intuitive accuracy.
So yes-write your dreams down. Speak them. Dance them. Live them. Gather. Dance. Celebrate. For me, one of the greatest blessings of this stage of life is the joy of gathering in celebration-for breakfast chats, dance parties, and spontaneous moments of deep connection and laughter. Whether it's a walk in nature, a morning at the café, or dancing under the stars-we need these rituals of togetherness. Because when women gather, energy shifts. Hearts soften.
So yes, birthday energy is a solo journey inward-but it’s also a shared vibration of joy and love. I’m so grateful for the Soul Sisters who surround me in celebration and reflection. We lift each other, remind each other of our light, and dance through life together. Every year, I use my birthday energy not just to celebrate-but to serve. This isn’t a retreat. It’s a recalibration.
It’s your chance to take a pause, breathe deeply, and remember who you really are-before the world told you who to be. Because when you align, everything flows differently. Your body. Your business. Your relationships. At 63, I’ve learned that wisdom is not in knowing it all-it’s in remembering the truth: you are an energetic being in constant conversation with life. Your birthday is a portal, yes. Am I in alignment? Because your light matters.
Celebrating Spiritual Birthdays
Spiritual birthdays are a big deal in the life of a Christian. Celebrating spiritual birthdays provides an opportunity for reflection on what God is doing in our lives and how far He has brought us. Spiritual birthdays are a time to build on the foundation we have in the Lord.
Here are some ways to celebrate:
- This special time can be used to look back over the previous year and evaluate what God has done in our life. Keeping Christ and His work on our behalf in the forefront of our mind is essential to our continued growth.
- The commemoration of this crucial step in our spiritual journey, is an opportunity for us to dig deeper and strengthen our relationship with Christ.
- The celebration of spiritual birthdays gives us a unique way to see that following God is a process - each year growing in our understanding of who God is and the plans He has for us as we look back and look forward.
- Deep, thoughtful conversations of faith and rich teaching moments can naturally emerge from the birthday person’s reflections on their walk with God. Family members can be vessels of blessing by offering sincere encouragement and affirmation as the guest of honor ponders their growth in Christlikeness.
For example, we see that numerous events in Israel’s history such as Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread held such great importance that the Lord Himself designated them as celebrations. Also, we notice in the Old Testament, that the Israelites marked places of significant decision. Many times, we see recorded, the setting up of stones and building of altars to remember milestones in their history.
Rest assured, that’s how it is with many - unsure exactly sure when they first trusted Jesus. Perhaps the day was many years ago, and no one thought to write it down. Maybe for some, the process was a gradual one. These believers cannot point to a specific time or day, but they know without a shadow of a doubt, that they are God’s child. Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
The answer is a simple one. If you do not know the date of spiritual birth, choose a date for celebrating. The date itself is not what you are celebrating. You are celebrating the event.

P. O. Divine Timing or Coincidence?
Why Soulmates & Family Members Are Born on Each Other’s Birthdays Have you ever noticed a curious thread weaving through your family tree or soul connections - a pattern where birthdays align, mirror, or land just days apart? Perhaps your child was born on your mother’s birthday. Or your soulmate shares a birth date with your sibling. When I look at my friends & family and even my in-laws, I see the patterns where people have been born on other people’s birthdays as well as people who are important in my life who I share a birthday with, oddly this particular aspect has only shown up in my adult life.
It’s easy to shrug it off as coincidence - but for those of us walking a spiritual path, synchronicity rarely feels random. In the world of soul-aligned living, timing is never accidental. Let’s explore why these birthday connections may be more than chance - and what they might be whispering to you about your soul’s journey.
The Soul’s Blueprint: Pre-Birth Planning & Soul Contracts
Many spiritual traditions suggest we choose certain elements of our life before we’re even born: our parents, our soul family, our lessons - and yes, even our birth date. According to this view, we travel through lifetimes with a group of souls - sometimes called a soul group or soul family - to help each other heal, grow, and awaken.
Within these groups, soul contracts are formed: deep agreements made in the spirit realm, where we choose to meet again in this lifetime for mutual evolution. Being born on the same day as a family member or soulmate may be part of that divine agreement - a cosmic stamp that says “I’m here. I chose this time. I chose you.”
Numerology & Vibrational Matchmaking
In numerology, every date carries a vibrational frequency. When two people share a birthday - or have dates that reduce to the same Life Path Number - it suggests a resonance at the soul level. You might be navigating similar lessons, carrying parallel missions, or mirroring each other’s inner evolution. This shared frequency can create powerful energetic dynamics:
- Support in mastering shared challenges
- Amplification of intuitive bonds
- A sense of “instant familiarity” that goes beyond words
Astrology & Soul Synchronicity
If you’re someone who feels guided by the stars, astrology offers another layer. When two souls incarnate under similar planetary alignments (which is more likely if their birthdays are close), it often reflects shared qualities, emotional rhythms, and karmic patterns. Sun signs, moon placements, and rising signs play a part in why you may “click” with someone born on your birthday - or why a family member feels like a mirror of your own essence.
What If It Is a Coincidence?
Of course, some might argue it’s all just probability. After all, with 365 days in a year and growing families, coincidences are bound to happen. I don’t believe in coincidence, only synchronicity. But if a pattern or moment holds meaning for you, it is meaningful. Synchronicity isn’t about proving anything. It’s about feeling the nudge, the spark of recognition, the sense that the Universe is speaking in symbols, reminding you:
“You’re not alone. This moment is sacred. You are part of something greater.”
What Might It Mean for You?
If you’ve noticed birthday alignments in your family or soul circle, take a moment to reflect:
- What lessons or qualities do you share?
- How do your lives intertwine in support or healing?
- What soul gifts are amplified when you’re together?
This could be an invitation to deepen that relationship, acknowledge its spiritual significance, or simply give gratitude for the beautiful choreography of your lives.
A Soul Reflection Ritual
Here’s a gentle prompt to explore in your journal or meditation: “Why did our souls choose to arrive so close together? What are we here to learn, heal, or celebrate in each other’s presence?” Allow the answers to rise from within. Let intuition, not intellect, lead.
In Closing… Shared birthdays aren’t just sweet coincidences. They may be spiritual breadcrumbs - subtle signs that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, surrounded by the souls who chose to walk this path beside you. And if you’re the kind of person who sees meaning in the moonlight, messages in numbers, and magic in timing… you already know: nothing is random.
